MCG Surge Protection employs high headroom movs in our products to prevent damage to the surge protector from voltage swells on the AC power line. These swells are harmless to equipment but not to a surge protector without enough headroom designed into it. Using high headroom varistors allows the surge protector to "ride out' the swells without damaging the varistors. However, we understand that some applications require lower voltage varistors than what we provide with our standard products.

If your application requires the use of lower voltage varistors, please contact Sentinel Power, Inc at 1-800-784-7989 (US only) or 724-925-8181 and we will discuss your requirements with the factory.
